Corn Sweeteners
Corn Syrup (also known as glucose syrup) is made from the starch of maize (corn) and contains varying amounts of maltose and higher oligosaccharides, depending on the grade. Corn Syrup has been a staple ingredient in homes, commercial kitchens, and bakeries for almost two centuries.
High-Fructose Corn Syrup (HFCS) is a more recent invention, which is made by converting a large proportion of Corn Syrup’s glucose into fructose.
Corn Syrup functions as a thickener and humectant while providing sweetness. Along with conventional versions of these products, we can provide non-GMO and organic versions on a special-order basis.
Our Corn Syrups range from DE 25 to DE 63 and our High-Fructose Corn Syrups range from DE 42 to DE 55. Both types of syrup can be provided in a full spectrum of light to dark color. In dry form, we can also provide dextrose, crystalline fructose, and corn syrup solids (DE 30 only). Whatever the application, our highly skilled food technologists can assist customers in creating the best natural sweetener solution for their specific needs.
